Firefox is not letting me access some articles that are linked on "Citizen Free Press." It shows an ominous black screen indicating that Firefox security prevents some articles from working if Firefox security setting is set to "strict." Curious, since my Firefox security is set to "standard."

“You can also use ublock origin to selectively disable javascript.”
You need to try NoScript. It blocks EVERYTHING including java script and then requires you to turn on and allow at your own discretion the bare minimum to make certain features work on a site by site basis.
It is not for the lazy because you have to THINK and REMEMBER what scripts do what. But there is no more secure way to use the internet period. Block absolutely everything, and then allow only what you need for your particular needs.
It works so well that it even blocks scripts that don’t even have a name and source yet... All the time it shows six blocked, but there are only five in the “known script” list. I have hit sites where it blocked 75 scripts and all I had to do to read it was allow the top “domain” on the list.
But this is usually java script and they ask you to turn it on. But keep in mind not all JS is nefarious. Although now days it is... But many sites use old school JS for things like navigation buttons and favicons and such. They are only available in JS format and even on ours we have no choice. But these small aesthetics are all we have there. Absolutely nothing else 3rd party.
The problem shows on many articles. I went to CFP and went down the list. These links triggered the problem:

And on and on ...
“I’ve noticed that it is impossible to avoid. I’ve given up.”
Because it is all the rage... Everyone knows you just can’t build a site without it and google analytics...
WRONG... It is brainwashing to google’s benefit period.
Why are you going through “x” to reach these sites?
Screw X links, Enter name into search and go directly to their server....
I’ve used it in the past. uBlock Origin, Ghostery and Cookie Autodelete are sufficient for my needs for the most part.
Get rid of Firefox if you can. Been using “brave” for a couple years now. No real complaints.
I am not going through “x.” I do not have an x account nor have I ever had an x or twitter account. I just click on the Citizen Free Press headline links.
I am using Firefox with standard security settings too.
What would you recommend?
No argument from me!
I see, they are forwarded links then. I stand coorected.
Same problem yesterday and again today.
I'm using Brave, primarily, but I also have Chrome and Firefox on this machine. If one acts up on a particular search or website I try another one.
