A “plus-size” travel influencer claimed a Washington airport worker refused to push her in a wheelchair up the jet bridge because of her size, which left her gasping for air when she was forced to walk off the plane.
Jae’lynn Chaney, 27, revealed on TikTok that she requested “wheelchair assistance” during her trip to Sea-Tac International Airport in Washington.
“I’m a plus-size wheelchair user and on a recent flight to the Sea-Tac airport, I requested wheelchair assistance, as I always do,” a narrator said on Chaney’s post. “When it came time for me to deplane, I saw the employee who would be assisting me with my wheelchair waiting for me in the entry of the jet bridge.”
The influencer, who has amassed over 135,500 followers on the platform, claimed the employee started walking away from the plane when she saw the traveler deboard the plane.
“As I approached her and she realized she’d be assisting me and not one of the smaller passengers she started to walk away with the wheelchair while making comments about my size,” Chaney claimed.
Chaney, who can walk, allegedly told the employee she needed the chair but was “blatantly ignored,” forcing her to walk up “one of the longest jet bridges I’ve encountered.”
The long walk took a lot of energy out of the influencer, and she claimed she nearly fainted.
“By the time she let me reach the wheelchair and sit down my lips were white, my oxygen levels had dropped, and I almost fainted,” Chaney recalled.

It’s also dangerous with side effects. Cutting the Carbs, Sugar, etc., and walking will do great things for her, but she will not do it, too much effort. Even 30 minutes a day and diet will improve things.
Yes she can ship herself FedEx anywhere.
If the airport wheelchair assistant had actually lugged her up the jetway, she would be the one requiring oxygen and maybe an AED.

Congratulations! Really well done.
She should not be allowed on an airplane without buying two tickets. Actually she should go by truck or, if going overseas, by freighter.
“I guess people in her life, that she trusts”
Some people only accept advice that they agree with. If you ask enough people, you can find someone who will agree with you. If you disagree, you need to shut up.

I might suggest she take the train. Freight cars have easy access, and don’t need five seatbelt extenders.
She probably PLAYED Jabba the Hutt.
Looks like a workman’s comp injury waiting to happen.

People with smaller bodies get to pay one fare to get to their destination,” Chaney told CNN Travel at the time.
“We have to pay two fares, even though we’re getting the same experience. If anything, our experiences are a little bit more challenging.”

What’s repulsive about her, she flaunts her obesity, takes no responsibility and plays the victim card to the max.
I’ve read articles about her. She’s rallying for an additional “complimentary” seat for “plus-sized” travelers instead of having to pay. If I was the airline, I wouldn’t let her fly at all since she’s a wallowing health hazard that could expire at any moment. The airlines have to know that they would be held liable by the woman’s attorney if she vapor-locked during a flight.
She has her own gravitational pull.

I’m probably going to get attacked for this. My experience with the extremely, morbidly obese is they have some kind of mental problem. I can’t recall running into anyone that obese in the professional military contracting world where I worked and that may have been because someone that mentally damaged simply can’t work at the required level to be in that world. But the, say, a hundred-pound overweight types were there, and each one had some set of idiosyncratic behaviors that made working with them problematic in one way or another. What I have learned is, if they’re impinging on your space and you say anything, be prepared for the blowback. It’s YOUR fault, YOUR problem. This is just one reasons why I’ll go out of my way to avoid any form of public transport. A certain segment of the public is just a ball of problems waiting for a moment to explode. Admittedly, it’s the minority, but why put yourself in that position if you don’t have to? And, as you found out, the people in charge in whatever the situation is, are not going to get involved because they don’t want to be the focus of that blowback. It is your problem. Not theirs.

With some cases but not all!
If I saw her in the boarding area, I’d cancel my flight.
If there was an emergency requiring an emergency evacuation and she had to go through a window exit, I bet it would look like someone was trying to push an oyster through a keyhole.
