Too bad the sailors didn’t have a few M-80s to toss overboard.

Only a matter of time. Killer whales kill blue whales and other baleen whales by diving into their mouths to eat their tongues, they deliberately chase and kill dolphins for fun, they eat great white sharks alive, tipping them over to chew their livers out. They’re basically the a***holes of the sea. You knew sooner or later they’d start wondering what we taste like.

The whale that wouldn’t die.

The whale, named Espresso by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), first washed ashore April 25 on Preston Beach in Marblehead.... They decided to tow her out to sea on May 2.
Moved 50 miles out to sea
... the whale was moved more than 50 miles out in the ocean, according to Swampscott town administrator Sean Fitzgerald.
But, the whale didn’t decompose as fast as NOAA had expected and, twelve days later, she landed on a beach near Blodgett Avenue in Swampscott.
We need Homer and Springfield to step up.

The Oregon State Highway Division knows how to deal with dead whales.

"The Oregon State Highway Division knows how to deal with dead whales."It seemed like a good idea at the time. Besides, there were all those boxes in the shed...

I was in high school in Portland when that happened. I probably would have skipped school to go see it if I’d heard about it ahead of time.

There’s a NatGeo documentary that shows orcas coordinating to create cavitation that breaks apart the ice flow a harbor seal has climbed onto to avoid them. Scary smart critters.
