Russian general Yuri Kuznetsov dragged out bed at 5am by cops as three more defence chiefs resign after Shoigu sacked

Lt-Gen Yuri Kuznetsov was arrested "on suspicion of criminal activity" just after Putin dismissed his Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.

A RUSSIAN general was dragged out of his bed at 5am to be taken into detention facing "criminal charges over state secrets" in Vladimir Putin's latest purge.

Lt-Gen Yuri Kuznetsov, 55, was arrested by heavily armed cops in balaclavas who smashed their way into his home using crowbars.

The top MoD official was reportedly “dragged out of bed and taken away for interrogation”.

The arrest of the military chief comes a day after Vladimir Putin oversaw major changes in Russia's defence, including the sacking of his long-term Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.

In the meantime, another three defence ministers resigned suddenly - Sergei Tsalikov, 67, first deputy for military-technical support Alexey Kryvoruchko, 48, and deputy defence minister Tatiana Shevtsova, 54.

A close ally of Shoigu, Kuznetsov is in charge of the ministry’s main personnel department but his detention is seen as linked to his previous role guarding military state secrets.

Investigators said that during searches of his homes they found cash amounting to £875,000 in roubles and foreign currency as well as "gold coins, collectible watches and luxury items".

Is there really a difference between communism and a dictatorship?

As for life under dictatorship, “communism” or czars(dictator), imagine is was all about the same

I’m Soviet Union there were special shops for elite, vacation resorts…. Tucker loved to point out the Moscow subway, but didn’t venture to see the Soviet concrete block housing and utter poverty of the east and much of what is outside St. Petersburg and Moscow

At this time sure wouldn’t want to be downstream from a Russian dam.

But Ukraine is full of nazis and corrupt so all is justified /s

Shoigu is now the head of national security. He’s basically over the military production infrastructure. His replacement is another long-term planner. Russia is preparing for this way to continue for years.

Maybe, but I’m guessing from active-duty generals...most all were doing corruption in some fashion...they are probably calling airlines and figuring a way to exit the country (maybe to Thailand....maybe to Turkey).

By the end of July...as they pick-up more generals, the exit door will be pretty active. This will also trigger a upturn on crypto currency, selling/buying of gold, and probably some Russian generals asking the CIA if a deal could be made.

That was funny.

Kremlin snuff box, 05/14/24
https://t.me/s/kremlin_secrets

After Shoigu left, a top official of the Ministry of Defense was detained. And this is just the beginning

The night before, information appeared that investigative actions had been carried out against the head of the main personnel department of the Ministry of Defense, Yuri Kuznetsov. He was detained, which was confirmed by our sources.

In fact, many have already written - Kuznetsov was charged because of his actions at his previous place of work. He headed the Eighth Directorate of the General Staff, which manages the State Secrets Protection Service. In essence, Kuznetsov is being charged with high treason. And this is very significant.

Firstly, do not forget the arrest of Timur Ivanov - he was accused of corruption. It was corruption that became one of the reasons for serious changes in the power vertical and the arrival of Andrei Belousov in the Ministry of Defense.

But if Shoigu was promoted to the honorary post of Secretary of the Security Council, no one gave any guarantees to other high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Defense.

And then “secondly” - they will investigate, investigate and imprison, not only for corruption, but also for the classic case of high treason. This profile can be taken into account by almost anyone, if there is political will. And, apparently, there is.

Interlocutors in the Kremlin and the Ministry of Defense do not hide that the detention of Kuznetsov is likely to be just the beginning.

“Many heads will roll - deputies, mid-level officials. Contractors will probably change too. The new broom will sweep in a new way,” the source said. Another source noted that in this situation Shoigu “only cared about his own skin.”

The Kremlin operates with competing criminal gangs. Putin’s criminal gang is currently on top.

Shoigu was removed and others shuffled because it was required by the Russian Constitution, and this was a convenient time. Removal here just means going to a different government position.

In DC he would just steal more - he is unofficially the world’s richest man with all the funds he has stolen and the bribes he has taken.

Midnight raids by police states are more likely to be used by tyrants than good rulers. We don’t want to go down that road.
