If Trump wins this November, there’s every reason to believe that Johnson will be at least as big an impediment to his agenda as Paul Ryan ever was. We will most likely never get a border wall built, and worms like Mike Johnson are the reason why.
This is yet another example of why it was so difficult for President Trump to choose people for his administration. The deep state is powerful, and numerous. Just like Johnson, many of the people Trump considered had solid records, only to turn on him the first chance they got. Just as Johnson turned on America the first chance he got.
