The UK is not a democracy. It is a constitutional monarchy that employs a parliamentary legislative system.
True.
And the US is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic that employs a bicameral legislative system.
Those who call the US a democracy are not only misinformed and/or ignorant. They deserve to live in a TRUE democracy so they can learn just how awful it ls. Our Founders were wise.
I know. They can even order media blackouts of stories. What it is, according to Jeremy Bentham, is a child’s uniform that has grown along with the child. Full grown, his knee pants and sailor top still fit, but he needs an entirely new outfit. So, too, there’s a bit of Magna Carta here, War of the Roses there, Common Law everywhere and two parliaments, one for the commoners and one for the nobility, a few colonies still under their dominion or commonwealth, or whatever, and with a monarchy for a cherry on top. In spite of all that jumble, it functions very well on many fronts. But “democracy” is just one facet of a complex diamond, one of which this vlogger is very fond, and which is very important. But it’s still just one facet.
