LOL! I DO remember two things from my youth: Toothpaste that came out of the tube in white, green and red stripes, and a jar of peanut butter that had jelly ‘injected’ into it along the sides of the jar.
And, of course, all of the ‘Space Food’ that was made so popular by our Astronauts. Nothing chemical-based in TANG or Space Sticks, Right? I mean, THAT is REAL FOOD! ;)
Those of us of a certain minimum age would still be able to identity Tang by its smell!
