AFAIK County Sheriffs’ jurisdiction is just in their counties.

Speaking only from experience growing up in the State of Virginia. County Sheriffs are written into the State Constitution and have jurisdiction throughout the state, although decorum keeps them mostly in their county...

Thanks! ....but if a county Sheriff deputizes someone, can that someone go arrest people in another state/locality, such as Washington DC?
