Despite the photo accompanying the story, as most people know, there are no Grizzly bears in Massachusetts. Get few miles outside of the major cities, and plenty of black bears, which are basically 300 pound racoons.

Partially ejected. Likely wasn’t wearing seat belt. Hope he didn’t regain consciousness while the bear was eating him.

Did the bear feed on the victim?
They dance all around but don't touch the main question.

A man's body was found outside the car, and a bear was observed in the woods in the vicinity of the scene. Evidence shows the bear had at some point made contact with the body. Leftist speak for "bear ate some of victim".

The biggest wild American black bear ever recorded was a male from New Brunswick, shot in November 1972, that weighed 409 kg (902 lb) after it had been dressed, meaning it weighed an estimated 500 kg (1,100 lb) in life and measured 2.41 m (7 ft 11 in) long..

OK, so it was the man who was killed, not the bear.

I guess they’re still hungry after coming out of hibernation.

So I’ve heard.
Rumor has it that there have been bear sightings within I’m guessing a half mile of our house. Someone reported on a community bulletin board that they had one on their back porch and gave the address.
Time to start carrying when outside.

Where we are, human vermin are virtually non-existent.
But I’ve been coming to that conclusion when going into town. More illegals showing up even here in rural, out of the way NH.

Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you.

That may be true, but it’s irrelevant. They may be almost non-existent, but they’re not completely non-existent. House fires are extremely rare but I’m pretty sure you have a fire extinguisher handy.
Think of a gun in those terms.
