There are hundreds, if not thousands of these charred scrolls from the Roman houses around Vesuvius. I expect more and more to be deciphered as imaging and AI processing gets increasingly better.

A lot happened in Rome after the eruption, but there should still be quite a bit of Roman Republic and Greek writing rediscovered. Can’t wait!

But Plato had been sold into slavery, then subsequently had he freedom bought back, decades before he listened to that slave girl (not sure he actually owned her, she might have been a loaner from a friend.)
