That must have been back in the Good Old Days when a humorous comment like that was taken properly, as a compliment and a joke.

Sometime after that it became "offensive" and she would have stalked away.

After that, you might have gotten smacked.

And most recently, you would have been arrested.

But, aahhh, for the Good Old Days.

1970 was the good old days… and you’re right - today would be a dangerous time to make any kind of observation about anyone. It’s amazing how radically things have changed.

It used to be a two-way street, too.

I was a freshman at Mizzou in fall 1969 and had a really cute and pretty blonde girlfriend who could could be a bit crazy at times. One day she was walking by the ROTC parade ground and all the cadets were standing at rigid attention. She yelled out as loud as she could “Hey, ROTC! Anybody wanna F*&K?” She said should could detect some smirks and quivers, but not much else.

I wasn’t there to see it, but to hear her tell it just made me crack up. Still cracks me up thinking about that.

Good times those were!
