Interesting mix between bad ideas, design errors and features that were just a few years ahead of the technology supporting them.
Push button transmissions and parking brakes are common, touch screens are everywhere and combined HVAC systems are universal.
But everyone still hates the Gremlin and Yugo.
I never hated the Gremlin, I thought it was kinda cool looking.
I liked the Pacer, too...................
3. Edsel tele-touch (button operated) transmission
Chrysler used push button A/T until the mid 60s-on the dash board. Even the last built Dodge Grand Caravans had the shifter on the dash.
XK8 ... loved mine but those plastic tensioners cost me thousands.
I know the following are not gone yet ... but might as well be. Many would be special order now and the dealer would look at you funny.
Clutch pedals and drivers that know how to use them.
Pickups with 8-foot beds.
Vents that can be closed independently.
Locking hubs on 4WD vehicles.
Cup holders in convenient locations (I was in a new Raptor last night where the cup holder was center console but 6 inches behind my shoulder.)
