Foot operated dimmer switch. Also, the foot operated radio station changer. Also, the CD player. I love physically owning CDs.
We had a young guy at work here just bought a new car and he was bragging about how you started it with just a button push.
I told him that all cars previous to the 1960s had a button on the floor to start the car...........
Yes, the foot operated dimmer switch, had forgotten about those.
My dad had pickups with a foot operated starter button, and 3-on-the-tree manual transmission.
On level ground it was no problem to start. Slip the transmission into neutral, pull out the choke, press starter button with left foot and keep right foot on the gas.
On hills it was trickier. Into neutral, then heel-and-toe the brake and gas pedal while pressing the starter with left foot.
No turn signals of course, had to make sure the window was down before your turn so you could use your left arm to signal directions.
Foot operated radio station changer?
Ha! What decade?
I’m with you on the foot activated dimmer switch.
With the salt, they would corrode and get stuck on brights. I remember I once needed to turn them down and was stomping on that danged button that so corroded it would hardly budge.
I finally got it loose and decided to never use it again.
the car we just bought now...a 2023...doesn't even have a cd player...
