According to the POLITICO email Donald is defending Mike Johnson ...

AIN’T EASY BEING GREENE — Turns out it wasn’t a momentary lapse of judgment: DONALD TRUMP yesterday evening defended Speaker MIKE JOHNSON for the second time in as many weeks amid a swirl of speculation about his future atop the House GOP.

After spending the day holed up in a Manhattan courtroom (more on that in a second), the former president told Real America’s Voice radio host John Fredericks that Johnson is “trying very hard” and “a very good person.”

“Well, look, we have a majority of one, OK?” Trump said, extending Johnson some grace and echoing the speaker’s own explanation for working with Democrats on a host of issues. “It’s not like he can go and do whatever he wants to do.”

Trump even praised Johnson for turning some foreign aid to Ukraine into a loan (a maneuver we previewed as a Trump sop weeks ago) and for standing “very strong with me” on urging NATO countries to up their defense spending commitments. More from Meridith McGraw

The remarks come just a day after Rep. MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE (R-Ga.) vowed on Fox News to force out Johnson one way or another. And it came just hours after MAGA chieftain STEVE BANNON claimed that Trump was in fact “furious about what happened” with Johnson’s support of foreign-aid spending and that he had been manipulated by “cuck political operatives” into backing the rookie speaker.

What does it all mean for Greene? Under her theory of the case, conservative lawmakers are home in their districts right now getting an earful from their constituents about Johnson’s betrayal of the MAGA cause, bucking them up to join Greene in a motion to vacate when they return to Washington next week.

But after first hearing Trump say, “I stand with the speaker,” and now, “I think he’s trying very hard,” it’s going to be awfully hard to deny that Trump is being crystal clear in signaling what he wants — or rather, doesn’t want: a messy election-year coup that throws the House into chaos and again reminds voters what MAGA governance can look like.

Yes, funny watching Trump supporters get all twisted and confused about what the are supposed to be supporting today.

Agree with questioning why take power and then not use it.

Dems are opening saying that Hakeem Jeffries is running the House.

Joe directs Schumer, Schumer meets with Hakeem, it’s done.

Many Dems went on the record saying it.

Mathematical reality...

Republicans cannot win a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives unless we elect 5% to 10% RINOs.

Republicans cannot win a majority in the U.S. Senate unless we elect 5% to 10% RINOs.

No RINOs?

No majority.

If the RINO compromise is too painful, or too dishonorable, to contemplate, then Republicans should proudly declare that we will NEVER seek a majority, in the House or the Senate, if we must compromise our political principles.

Johnson has been put into an impossible situation.

There is a plot to force/entice Republican House members to resign to give Democrats a majority in the House to oust Johnson and torpedo Trumps election.

It's working and the Republican majority is effectively nil.

With such a slim majority every power broker, drama queen, grand stander and saboteur is empowered to break the system.

It's an election year and Ukraine funding is a hot button issue.

Due to Biden Administration malfeasance, the Biden proxy war has reached a critical point and the Ukraine is on the brink of military and economic collapse.

Absent another round of US funding the Ukraine will collapse in the very near term.

Johnson is faced with wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and a China that is actively working to exploit these conflicts to allow it to further it's military ambitions in Asia.

The Ukraine is one of the most strategically important countries in the world and it's collapse will have serious world wide repercussions.

Johnson was presented with two options

- Block funding to Ukraine and allow it to collapse

- Pass a Ukraine/ Taiwan/Israel/ Hamas funding bill on terms favorable to Democrats and unpopular to his conservative base.

He had very little choice but to opt for the latter because allowing Ukraine to collapse would be an unrecoverable, irreversible disaster.

The funding for Ukraine allows the Biden Admin and Congressional Democrats to continue their disastrous policy of unceasing death and destruction in Ukraine, followed by inevitable defeat, or worse - direct US /NATO military intervention with Russia.

It does, however, give the Ukraine the ability to hold out in hopes of a Trump win and a Trump Administration committed to peace agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine.

America is going to be given a very stark contrast between a Trump Presidency and Biden Presidency and one of the biggest contrasts is going to be foreign policy and how we deal with the proxy war in Ukraine.

I'm not happy with what Johnson has done, but the fact is the other option was the near term collapse of Ukraine resulting in the military defeat of Ukraine which would be a disaster for the entire world.

Don't see how the Speaker had any other option.

You know I agree with that sentiment of yours. It is now too late to do a damn thing and it will go nowhere until after the election and I won’t even get into what I think is going to happen with that!

Mikey is going to keep filling the table at Biden’s smorgasbord of country wrecking ideas. Worse part he gives Joey his way and then never shuts up about what a good boy he is for doing it.

Doing something to stop it would be positive, but not likely.

Too many are living in Oz right now.

Trump is NOT a Republican.

This was never his party.

When he secured the nomination in 2016, he said he had beaten a rigged system.

Put another way, he completed a hostile takeover of the Republican ballot spot for POTUS.

He became POTUS because he promised to build a wall which was a promise those who hold elected office in the Republican Party was never going to allow him to keep.

Trump is held hostage by the choices presented him by those putting their name up to run on the Republican ticket.

When Jeff Sessions betrayed Trump, then it was clear just how much Deep State rot had overtaken the Republican Party.

Honestly as a conservative, I never saw that betrayal coming as I thought Little Beauregard was as solid as anyone Trump could have selected to put in a position of trust in his cabinet.

Trump is playing the Johnson situation as well as he can.

Elite Stream Media would love nothing more than to make a war between Trump and Johnson.

Trump wisely avoids doing what his enemies would love him to do.

Trump is in the fight of his life just to stave off the political prosecutions.

Not to mention that he has mount a campaign while fighting his enemies in courtrooms.

Fighting a battle with Johnson can only hurt his goal of securing the White House.

Trump is playing the lousy hand that has been dealt him as well as anyone could play it.

” Sure let’s throw out our leadership and lose the House 6 months before the election. “

Serious question: how realistic is it that they are able to maintain a one seat majority for the next seven months ?

If they had a couple of special elections which they would win, then maybe it might be worth trying.

But as it is, something is bound to come up, and they lose the majority anyway. More resign. Somebody dies. Somebody gets mad and switches Parties. ...

And all that happens is Trump cucks himself, supporting a douche like Johnson, Johnson collapses anyway, Jeffries becomes Speaker, and the Dems do whatever they are going to do with their one seat majority.

Trying to push Trump off the ballot with a least some votes from Dems in Trump districts.

The other thing is they’re “Trump-proofing” I notice

Most of the spending is baked into 2026- near halfway through a theoretical 2nd Trump term.

The Dems will also likely run the House/Senate for most of it.

I don’t see them compromising or being forced to do things they dont like such as cutting spending

Evidently, you believe he has had a lot of good choices to pick from.

The pickins’ are slim, mighty slim.

I stated in this thread - I believe: Mods removed my comment - “they got to him’.

https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/4232152/posts?page=75#75

If this is not evidence to that statement on top of his support for uke folly, I don’t know what is.

Now, the JA response to my comment in the other thread and the unknown motivation for removal of my comment seem aligned with the ASSumption that I’m against Trump; FAR from it.

But if they realize now that they can’t make him quit or find any real dirt with which to persecute him, why is it beyond the realm of possibility that they’ve pushed ‘the family button’?

I’m all in on Trump and can only hope that he wins and uses the power of his office to take out his enemies, thereby giving us half a chance to survive this unfolding disaster engineered by Zero and his global cabal, but he’s wrong on johnson and zeepers (and I believe he was coerced).
