Kiefer Sutherland denies he stayed in character and bullied his “Stand by Me” cast in 1986.
Sutherland, 57, looked back on the 1986 coming-of-age film during Thursday’s episode of “The Talk,” which former co-star Jerry O’Connell co-hosts.
Natalie Morales used Sutherland’s visit to address the viral claim that he would continue to be mean to the movie’s young actors when the cameras stopped rolling.

Almost 40 years ago. Maybe lay it to rest like the dead body they were looking for in the movie.
Good movie and soundtrack.
Kiefer “being mean” seems pretty low on things in Hollywood to be concerned about. Maybe the underage rape should be more pressing.
Method acting....happens all the time.
And directed, right?
People who didn't have the balls to say anything when it happened, are now encouraged to whine that their feelings were hurst 40 years ago. They have to have their victim moment, even if it was 4 decades ago. No wonder this country is the way it is. I'm glad I'm on the tail-end of my life. The future is going to be even worse.
Yes, I believe so. I wish he had stuck to making movies rather than delving into leftwing politics.
I’ve read its fairly common for directors to create wedges to enhance the emotions between actors. One example was Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer in the original Top Gun.
Well he was a bully in the film- call it method acting.
In 1990, I worked many days and nights on DIE HARD 2. One afternoon, I was sneaking peeks at the footage in what they call “video village”. I left to go back to my area through a path in deep snow. Took ten steps and a tall figure walked toward me and stopped in the narrow path. It was Bruce Willis. He just glared at me. With one look, I stepped aside into the snow and let him pass by. It didn’t take long for me to realize that it wasn’t Bruce Willis just being a jerk, it was “John McLane” telling me to get out of his way. Kind of cool, in a way, to have an interaction with a fictional cinematic character.
