1. Nothing that is "codified into law" ought to mean anything anymore. Support for Ukraine is "codified into law." U.S. military campaigns in Third World dumps all over the globe were "codified into law." No American should feel obligated in any way (politically, morally, etc.) to support a foreign country just because that country's lobbyists have managed to cut deals with U.S. politicians and corporate interests to establish business relationships that effectively become overseas money-laundering operations.

2. The spiritual side of this should have been dismissed out of hand when the first "pride" parade was held in Jerusalem, of all places. This kind of thinking looked particularly silly early in the morning of October 7th when Hamas mutants invading from Gaza were preying on "Jews" who had gathered in the desert of southern Israel for some kind of rave concert/festival on the night of a Sabbath that coincided with a holy day in the Jewish calendar. Israel is nothing more than a modern, secular, socialist state that is no different than its counterparts all over Europe. Some of us are as dismissive of Israel as we are of those other countries.
