I was apparently dumb enough to move to a part of Florida that’s going to be cloudy tomorrow.

Given the irony that Florida, my long time former home, is the Sunshine State, I prescribe an Adult Beverage as consolation 😎

Today we use “eclipse glasses”. Don’t pull them off and look at the sun like Marge Simpson did and end up at the hospital.

I'm going up to a part of northern Vermont tomorrow where totality will happen. And they're predicting perfect weather!
Next week I have an appointment with my retina specialist. I'm gonna ask her if she's seen any patients with retina damage due to the eclipse.

Pleasantly integrated school room. Everyone looking nice and neat and respectful. I think we’re supposed to think of this as Bad Old Days.

I used a welding hood last time. Pulled them out and cleaned them today. Extra dark glasses in them.

The unguarded, no eye protection “teacher” is looking straight up. His students are carefully covered with their cardboard “pinhole” cameras to create shadows on the ground.

Heading to St. Albans myself. Hope the weather holds!

has she ‘seen’ . . . ?
Trick question.

Meh.. Seen one eclipse, seen ‘em all.

Florida is far from the path of totality this time. You won’t miss a thing unless you’re an astronomy geek and if you were you would have traveled the centreline somewhere.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I’ve never had the urge to stare directly at the sun, for the same reason I never had the urge to hit myself with a hammer.
It hurts.
