Sounds like a Nigerian scam thing
Love scam. Happens a lot. Often ends with the man losing his kids, and giving up half his savings, equity and future income.
This is tragic.
Honest people would never even think of taking advantage of someone like this. It is a mistake to trust anyone 100%. People will tell you everything they think you want to hear to get you to trust them.
If someone seems too good to be true, they are probably running a con.
Unless there is a ring on your finger, don’t give money to a “boyfriend”.
Most realtors would have swindled her out of $72K AND locked her into an 8.5% mortgage for 30 years.
Honey, if you find a male realtor nowadays something is probably going to go wrong.

This is a story that has been told before. I seriously doubt if it is true. This is a “look at me” article probably with a link to a GoFundMe page. A reverse swindle.
Either that or she’s a homely and pudgy woman with low self esteem and was super excited that she was going to get hitched finally.
Why else would anyone even admit such stupidity let alone just come out and tell the whole world.

Not going to read the article to check for the GoFundMe link, but I’ll bet you’re right.
Okay she’s not pudgy or homely but definitely very needy. Look at those lips! They are enhanced by cosmetic surgery and they don’t look normal at all. Some guy saw her picture and sent her some images of the guy who’s on YouTube without his shirt on selling weight loss products. She walked right in and gave her money happily.
