Pricing EVs right seems to be a shot in the arm. What to me is really interesting is the surge in hybrids, a sector infrequently mentioned because it's much less of a political flashpoint than EVs. Toyota has quietly built up a substantial lead in sales from these vehicles.

Ford was already losing $28k or more per EV. Slashing prices is not going to help that.

IOW, Ford will be charging more for gas vehicles to make up the loss.

Sales personnel are doing their jobs. They are ensnaring FORD owners one last time; how much discount can you give on a 150k FORD Electric Truck? Had these people even considered an electric vehicle prior to walking on the lot, they might have bought a Tesla.

You can get a new Tesla S for 44k before tax deductions, and the charger is about $450 if you install it yourself. A used top tier Tesla with a new battery goes for the same as fully loaded base model. Under 40K. In Raleigh, NC you can get them in the 20’s.
