what I noticed on a recent ski trip is that almost everyone wears a helmet now.

Which you might at first “think” makes everyone safer.. but not necessarily! Because the helmet itself is a danger to others. It is one thing to get hit by another skier it is an entirely different thing to get hit by another skiers helmet.

And people may not be afraid of taking risks — “Hey, I’m wearing a helmet! It’s not like I could get hurt or anything!”

But on the bright side, Global Warming will make all of these accidents a thing of the past.

Guys, there’s some good research that merely putting a helmet on an average motorcyclist actually increases his odds of being in an accident. Researchers speculate as to the reasons, but it seems that the feeling of safety the helmet provides might be increasing risk taking. I assume the same may apply to skiers.
