3000 kg version of Russian guided bomb...
The 500 and 1500 kg versions of FAB bombs have been crreating havoc amongst the hohos prior to now and now we see claims of a 3000 kg version to be ready in large numbers shortly.
Germans dropped something like that on a British town in 41 or 42 and by all accounts it trashed the town...
Not obvious that an SU34 or any of their other fighter-bombers could carry such a thing, might have to use the white swans...
Ouch. Only possible after suppressing Zelvis’s dwindling air defense systems, which are mobile and desperately getting shuttled back and forth across the country.
Whoever rebuilds the wrecked towns will need trillions of $ equivalent. It may take longer than rebuilding Germany.
The FAB-3000 was developed in the 1950s. SU-34s can not carry them, it takes at least a TU-22 and those are strategic bombers. Russia is not going to risk a TU-22 to drop unguided bombs on Ukraine. None of the Russian glide bomb kits fit the FAB-3000. It will take time for Russia to build them, build and test glide bomb kits, and fit them to a bomber.
Given Russian procurement history this is a decade away if ever. That assumes this is for real, not more Russian empty bravado.
“West admits Russian glide bombs might actually be “game-changer”
This a very good recap of the FAB 500, 1000 and 1500s that have changed the face of the battle this year. There’s video of the winged ordinance being launched and activating the wings.

I don’t understand how one huge bomb would be better than a dozen regular bombs (which could be delivered by regular planes)
Anything within half a mile or so of a 3000kg bomb will be flattened.
Dont we already have similar (since 1998) with the JSOW glide bomb?
Wow! Massive terror and destruction, unheard of in civilized warfare!
Oh, except for these, and others, used by the US Britain, and Germany.

Amateur propaganda like this is why they want to censor the internet.
