I am able to get tax credits from the state (check your local laws they will vary!) that cover about a quarter of most retiree's property taxes. They consider the $50 I charge them to do their taxes money well spent.

Yes, they could do it themselves for free and I have even offered to show them how but they prefer to come over to my place once a year and hand over their little file and say, "you do it dear."

Maybe it is the free cookies. :)
