With everything I’ve learned about the Vietnam War, Johnson and suspicions about JFK’s death, long ago I gave Fonda a pass.
It’s not helpful to the current fight to dredge up the past, particularly a past built upon DS lies and buoyed by the blood of thousands of American soldiers.
*long ago I gave Fonda a pass./a past built upon DS lies and buoyed by the blood of thousands of American soldiers.*
Hindsight is 20-20. Fonda was young and naive. She still is. There was never a declaration of war. She may have cared about the 58k dead Americans more than the rest of us. Give her credit for trying to do do something about it.
Was Viet Nam worth it? A ‘noble cause’? History says otherwise.
Not sure I'm giving her a pass, but I share your disillusion with the US. This place was as corrupt as any Latin American or Soviet bloc country since forever.
