IMO, this is great news.
He has chosen a well-heeled, hard-core Leftist who will fund his campaign, get him on all the ballots, and siphon off many more D voters than R’s.
Between RFKJ, West, Stein, et al, things are looking about as good as they can for Trump in re to the actual field.
How many times has he “tapped” her?

If he draws too many anti-Biden votes, I won’t want to be a fly on the wall in Congress. They’re liable to try to overturn the system and call for a “coalition” with Biden and Kennedy —

Crisis is opportunity to these people.
What is the generally accepted opinion at present? Is RFK Jr. a bigger threat to Pres. Trump or to Biden? (I.e., from whom might he be expected to "siphon off" more votes?)
In my estimation, he's a bigger threat to Biden - unless he pulls some stunt and withdraws prematurely, urging all his voters to switch to Biden. (Probably already "baked in" to his campaign strategy.)
I expect some sort of chicanery along those lines this autumn.

Once RFK’s politics become more familiar than his last name, I believe only independents and Democrats will be tempted to vote for him. That’s IF he is still on the ballot in November.
Then IF he wins, say, 20 percent of the EV, Biden 35 and Trump 45...that’s when my nightmare gets underway. We have people in Congress, Democrats mostly, who don’t give a damn about the law, who will tear it all down rather than allow DJT to return to the White House. There would be full-on pandemonium if Trump won with around 240 votes.
Unlikely RFK will have that much of an effect on the outcome. But not impossible.
We have to admit, she’s better than Harris.
Her ex is a Russian, and one of the richest men on earth. They better hope it was amicable.
