“I like Kenan Thompson; he could play me."
I will not be watching.
Was in college when SNL came about.
SNL would start on a Saturday night, parties would stop and we were glued to the TV.
Fun show, at least when it started.
RE: ...a new movie depicting the inaugural episode of the hit comedy program which aired in 1975.

Why not just watch the original episode on youtube. Doesn’t make sense.
LOL
I’ve been around as long as Bill has. I was a fan early on, but over time his schtick has worn out its welcome. He isn’t really funny anymore, but he thinks he is.
That goes much more for Chevy Chase.
The expression is "since he was knee-high to a grasshopper," Bill!
Regards,
Smarter than average - yes.
Comedy skills - average
Acting skills - barely average.
Physical appearance - below average.
This guy has been hanging around movies and TV for 50 years, and I still don't get it.
True, but sometimes he’s the exact guy for the role. “Groundhog Day”, “Scrooged”, “The Man Who Knew Too Little”, “Kingpin” and of course “Caddyshack”.
I lived in college towns for much of my younger life and got to know a lot of graduate students.
Bill Murray might have inherited some of the European comedy cachet that Jerry Lewis had with the French.
I knew a young woman from Amsterdam, and three young men, from Germany, Hungary, and Bulgaria, who all thought that Bill Murray was brilliant!
Groundhog Day was his best role.
SNL movie is going to do poorly because it’s woke. So they’re not allowed to be funny. If it was 2005, maybe they’ll be able to pull it off with the right cast. But today? Dave Chapelle is banned because of his jokes about trans. But SNL can’t have that.
An actor playing an actor. Who does he think he is? Cary Grant?
Nothing against Kenan Thompson, but to even suggest him is an indication of the probability that the SNL movie will be just another liberal wokefest to be avoided at all cost.
🤣
I was out of the country that first season and probably never have seen t he first, or most of the episodes.
I wonder if Albert Brooks will be included in the movie. He’s the one who suggested, maybe insisted, they use rotating hosts.
I was completely taken in by the SNL commercial about the triple bladed razer - “The first blade pulls it out, the second blade pulls it out further and third blade cuts it off” and at the end “Because you’ll believe anything.”
I had not seen SNL and had been just barely paying attention anyway... was suddenly riveted...”What? What?” Only after the real commercials ended and SNL came back on did I realize it was part of a show. Classic!
