Who keeps a kangaroo as a pet? Hope the family is held liable for the car damage.

"The driver thought he hit a deer, and the sheriff's office said he was "shocked" when he learned he had hit a kangaroo. I imagine most Americans would be a little shocked to learn that...although we did have an escaped emu running around our neck of the woods in Alabama a few years back, and there was no mistaking that thing when you saw it!

It is well known in Australia that kangaroos will jump out onto the road when they see a car's headlights.
They head straight for the lights.

Didn’t heed “tie me kangaroo down, sport”—a Rolf Harris 1962 hit song.

By the way, “A female kangaroo is called a doe, flyer, jill or roo; a male is called a buck, boomer, jack or old man.”
So in the White House we now have a jill and an old man. Uncanny.

When I toured Australia some of the “roo bars” made the “utes” look like Mad Max vehicles. Those Western Red kangaroos are massive.

Always tough to lose a beloved pet. I feel sorry for the family and for the fellow who accidentally hit it.

He jumped to conclusions when he thought it was a deer.

A different world back then when ‘Tie me kangaroo down, sport’ could be a hit song.

In many western states, the owner of the animal is responsible for keeping them controlled, and off the Right of Way.
Is that the way of it in this state?
