We listened to after the gold rush Thanksgiving at my cousins house cousins with whom I was with a month ago burying their 96 year old father my uncle
An Irish funeral
We sang well into the evening the day of the funeral. Some of us are in the music industry in NY and sang at the funeral mass
After the gold rush was a dream a creative gem

Also CSNY Deja vu

‘Where are you going now my love’
Where will yo be tomorrow”

We sing helpless on the back porch at the north shore if Long Island beach house. 3 chords and all the harmony you can pull out of Joni Mitchell’s master rendition at Robbie Robertsons last waltz

They won’t shut up and sing. Like disobedient children. We don’t have such in this generation coming up. The college educated kids I know are loving, hard working hopefully American

Neil Young

He wanted to make a statement. No one cared.
Maybe not even him

"After the Gold Rush" is exceptional - I still love playing that on my turntable once in a while.

The guy may be a jerk (most artists seem to be), but he could write a song.

He didn’t perform on Carry On or any hit on Deja Vu other than Woodstock. It’s probably why those songs are so good.
