US missionaries trapped in Haiti beg for help amid violent gang takeover: ‘The gunfire never stops’
US missionaries trapped in Haiti say they are worried nobody is coming to rescue them as gang violence and lawlessness tear the country apart, leaving dead bodies piled up in the streets.
Jill Dolan and her family are trapped in the country, sheltering in place at a makeshift motel in capital Port-au-Prince — where most of the violence has been concentrated — awaiting an evacuation, while gunfire can be heard outside day and night.
Dolan, who helps run an orphanage in Haiti through her organization Love A Neighbor, said she is in contact with the US Embassy, but little help has been offered.

But the money for the wedding needed to come from somewhere.

Haiti is not a place for missionaries , well any foreigner . Are these the missionaries that send Haitians to the US ?
Missionaries have chosen martyrdom for centuries. It isn’t like this was a huge sudden change in the social structure.
Ole Joe maybe will say something at this Sunday mass, but doesn’t look like he’s too concerned about his Christian Catholic neighbors!

I do feel bad for the missionaries; it must be terrifying. On the other hand, there are plenty of souls that need saving in any quiet city or town in the US. Why would they go abroad in the first place?
I vacationed in Haiti many years ago. We stayed at The Villa Creole in Petionville, a few miles up the road, and uphill a few hundred feet, where it was much cooler.
It could be a beautifual and propserous country.
I will pray for that, and for the safety of those trapped in the current — and decades old — political mess.
America rescuing Americans?

My friend’s church would send a group of their high-school kids every year to a mission in Haiti for 10 days over spring-break.
I called it the: “hug a black child and send back photos tour”
I always wondered, why can’t the local Haitian members nail sheet metal to a roof? Or clean up the trash around the compound - which was the normal “work” the kids engaged in for a week or so.
I certainly don’t doubt these kids’ (or really, their parents’) generosity or charity - but to me, it also reinforces leftist white guilt, and woke-progressive-globalist ways of thinking for these suburban American kids.
Yes, I’m a cynical bastard - flame away.

Jill Dolan is White. And Christian. She went there out of an abundance of love to help the people.
Expecting biden to get up early from his nap to send help is an exercise in futility. He hates Whites/Christians.
How much do you want to bet that biden does nothing to help her and her family? Seeing how he helped get people out of Afghanstan, I think the outcome is guaranteed.
He is despicable, mean, angry and vengeful.
