Can anyone prove they have “long COVID”? Seems like a disability scam or something.

I consider COVID to be the flu. Some people die of the flu. But I don’t think people get “long Flu”.

I think you’re mistaken about long CoVid. Some people, including several FReepers, have had debilitating effects from CoVid that changed their bodies. Some were even very athletic, and are now unhealthy.

Those of us who only got colds, and got over it quickly, are blessed. I’m sure those afflicted with long CoVid would give an arm and a leg to have their old healthy bodies back.

If there was damage directly from the Flu or Covid-—then yes. For example, if the lungs were damaged I would consider this more of a casualty of an illness and caused by an illness.

But all this “brain fog, anxiety, etc” is total BS....and, I believe, like you said, more insurance scamming. If there wasn’t so much free money flying around due to “Covid”, people would have been back to work in a few days and it would have fell into the abyss with the “Hong Kong virus” and “East Asian flu”.

People have always died of the flu. Especially the elderly with other underlying conditions.

"Long" COVID is just another name for what we've had all along to describe people who are generally unhealthy in any number of ways.

“”Can anyone prove they have “long COVID”? Seems like a disability scam or something.””

Chris Cuomo mentioned on his show last week that he has it but it wasn’t to announce it; it was more when speaking on another subject like it was a given and must be everyone knew it.

I have a stepdaughter who has something but I don’t know if it’s “long COVID” - came on after the vaccines...She so swallowed all the government propaganda and chastised me for not being a “believer” that there has been a cooling in our relationship since..She’s been unable to work, has to use oxygen, uses a walker, can’t drive, applied for and finally obtained SS disability. I live 3000 miles away and only have phone contact and what I get from other members of the family. I get calls from her on Mother’s Day and my birthday and I don’t raise the subject...

I have Long Covid. Chronic fatigue, nausea, insomnia, dizziness, brain fog, increased confusion. I had to retire because of it.

Caught Covid in Feb 2022, developed Long Covid starting July 2022, got really bad in Nov 2022, had to retire in April 2023 because of it. It still affects me, and probably forever will. Been trying to get a disability cuz of it. Still fighting with SS.

I’m on week 3 of COVID and it kicked my ass for the first two weeks with fever, coughing, phlegm etc. Prior to getting it, I was walking my dog 1.5 mile each day and another 2.5 miles inclined on my treadmill. I can no longer walk up two flights of stairs without my hearst bursting through my chest and getting winded. I started walking my dog again, but it has to be on a flat course. Our normal route had a couple hills but I can’t walk it without stopping multiple times to recover. I’m hoping it improves over time but this is the 3rd time I’ve had COVID and the worst.
