Does anyone know why so many flights have been cancelled? My wife was going to fly from Phoenix to Miami this evening, but the flight was cancelled, and there seems to be nothing else available on any airline. At first the airline said it was due to weather, but later somebody said it was something to do with air traffic control problems. There seems to be nothing on the news about this.
Severe weather.
Rotor blades?
Landing gear assemblies?

Where? The weather maps aren’t showing anything that looks very bad.
A serious shortage of competent aircraft tire changers is my guess.
Climate change.
Pilot shortage.
I’m in favor of DEI and all that but I think putting the developmentally disabled in charge of air traffic control management is going a bit too far.
Illegals are booked on all the flights this evening
Lots of wx in NE now
Connecting of flights can cascade
“TPA and other Florida airports are experiencing a high number of delays and cancellations due to a long band of thunderstorms to the north of us,” Tampa International Airport said in a statement to 8 On Your Side. “The FAA has a delay program in effect for arriving and departing flights, primarily due to the weather and the high volume of flights today.”
East Coast weather mostly...your wife’s plane to Miami might have been coming in from a bad WX area & was cancelled/very delayed there. And Miami is also having delays.

They served the fish
All the radars are clear

The airlines are waiting for the next DEI pilot’s class to graduate and be assigned to your airline.
I take that back, the N/E is getting lots of weather.
Interesting. Check the airports via abbreviations (MKE for Milwaukee for example) I’m seeing somewhat less international traffic than usual.

Seeing storms, but not near Miami.
Thanks, that could be it. Didn’t seem to be anything very major on national radar maps, but it could be worse than that looks.
