Yikes! In a couple of weeks we are flying United to SFO. Going to meet our new grandson and spend Grandma and Grandpa time with his 3 year old brother. I hate the flying part, but we have to do it every few months.
Odds are hugely in your favor. There are tens of thousands of flights every day. Yet when any mishap occurs it becomes news. How many hundreds of people are killed EVERY DAY in traffic accidents? But they do not make news. Only reason airplane mishaps make news is because they are so rare.
It will be fine. This is an isolated incident or two and we over react.
Think about how many ordinary flights United will have flown
both before today n between now and when you fly.
