I stated in the next comment we got in after they attacked us. So this makes it different.
We did not get in to help them, it took an attack on us. So technically we went to war to defend ourselves.
However, by doing so we did help all others, all of which eventually turned on us.
That’s all correct. Only after FDR waited until that happened.
