That pesky constitution may get in the way. Marxism and the Bill of Rights are mutually exclusive. The marxists are the ones who should be sent to the gulag.

“...an experiment to see if a communist state can coexist in a capitalist country...”

China’s been doing the capitalistic system in a communist state, for at least a decade. And it’s worked well for them. No reason why NYS can do the reverse, with so many leftists/socialists/commies/Marxists/anarchists in that NYC hellhole.

Communism is entering New York State by a back door? It is crawling in the windows, coming up from the cellar, and raining down from the sky.

New York City is becoming Bangladesh. And the state is not far behind.

In 1964, Barry Goldwater suggested the rest of New York simply saw off the boroughs that make up New York City and let it drift out to sea.

"New York Opens a Back Door to Communism"

The traitorous NY Demonicrats have opened the back door, the side door, the windows, and cut a hole in the roof to let in the Commies.

As businesses flee New York, the standard of living in the state may likely decline. When businesses leave, it can lead to a decrease in job opportunities, reduced economic activity, and a decline in overall prosperity for the state's residents. Without a vibrant business climate, there may be fewer resources available to invest in public services and infrastructure, which can further impact the standard of living.

In such a situation, the appetite for the state taking of assets may increase. As the economy weakens, the government might be tempted to intervene more heavily and impose higher taxes or regulations to compensate for the loss of businesses and tax revenue. This could lead to a greater burden on individuals and hinder wealth generation.

When property and capital are diverted to government consumption rather than wealth generation, it can have long-term consequences for New York's future. In 50 years, the state might face a stagnant economy with limited entrepreneurial opportunities and reduced innovation. This could result in a less dynamic and prosperous society for its residents.

There was a story in the WSJ recently about the huge number of apartments that are sitting vacant in NY because the landlords don’t want to invest in fixing them up for a new tenant with the rent caps so low since 2019.

You used to be able to invest some money in bringing them up to code, and thereby skirt the rent-increase limits. But now there is a cap on the increase allowed that is too low for most landlords to rationally rent them out anymore.

I think there is a solution to this, but no one has found it yet.
