A president or former president has never been charged with a crime before, which means that no court has been given the opportunity to rule on the topic. However, there have been a couple of close encounters.

I haven’t read this whole article yet as I just got back from the store and jumped on the TFT right away.
Just think about it. If a President didn’t have immunity he could be convicted of War Crimes. Someone could have charged Truman with murder for having dropped the bombs. Even though we were in a war they could have said that was outside the (Whatever) I can’t think of what I want to say. :-(

Just look at who is in office now and you will know why it is an issue.
