The CDC Cyber 6000 series mainframe computers used a 60-bit memory size. It was chosen because 60 could be conveniently divided by 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, and 30. The integral divisors made it great for storing lots of different-sized data types.

The choice of using 60 to divide hours into minutes was for the same reason: lots of nice integral divisors.
