NASA is superfluous, IMO. Cut their budget 90% and give it to real American innovators and entrepreneurs.
The James Webb Space Telescope is a NASA spacecraft and telescope.
It’s changing everything in astronomy and physics, showing what we thought we knew, was WRONG. Knowledge like this is priceless. First to fly an aircraft on another planet, ho humm, who cares right? Lands a probe on a spinning, rotating asteroid and then retrieves a sample and returns to earth. Who gives a damn? Sportsball is on.
It’s a Herculean task to have created such a wonderful tool, worth every damn penny. Some of us are actually curious about the universe around us.
When the agency doesn’t have to dance to the idiots in charge, it can do groundbreaking science. Unfortunately, it gets funding slashed all the time because politicians want to give payments to the useless or think it’s unimportant. Makes me want to cheer on an asteroid. Maybe the next dominant species won’t be so damn proud of being ignorant.
NASA is superfluous, IMO. Cut their budget 90% and give it to real American innovators and entrepreneurs.

Nice idea but the FAA, EPA, Fish & Wildlife, local enviro groups would shut them down in a heart beat, as they are trying to do with SpaceX’s Starship.
