No problem. I had made that assumption myself at first, that the Dad must have been part of it.

However, it looks like he was kicked out of the home and that Ruby (and her "business partner" Joni) were arrested for the actual abuse of the children.

It's a sordid story that I will have to read more about later, if I have the stomach for it.
