I have no problem with Tucker talking to Putin, I’m not at all for censoring Tucker.
But he’s coming off now as more of an Ugly American.
He’s ‘coming off’ as what Daily Mail UK wants to portray him as, IMO. It’s interesting to me that DM has more in-depth and better reporting about America’s problems than our own MSM. Maybe because misery sells, and then there’s the added benefit of reporting on American ‘misery’ is a good distraction from DM’s own home-grown misery.
What’s really ‘Ugly American’ to me is all our own government and MSM pontification about how we’re all too stupid out here to understand its unemployment numbers, how the economy is really good, etc. when most of the proponents don’t even seem to have ever been in a grocery store, paid a utility bill or bought gas. All that stuff is magically there for them.
When I grew up and traveled and worked the third or developing world an ugly American charictature was an American who looked down on other nations and cultures as inferior
And was snobby or derisive over it
My biz partner and lifelong best pal did this initially which caused some friction between us
Mostly because I found it counter productive considering we were there to strike deals with those folks
It certainly gives one an appreciation of America but there’s no need for him to have been rude about it
And it did cause issues especially in Colombia
Where they are kind of proud and nationalistic despite having civil conflict then
I think Tucker found Russia not as bad as he’d figured

Few are as bad as NYC anywhere in the world
Even Mexico City and São Paulo
I look around at YouTube of big cities everywhere and what strikes me is everyone has skyscraper clusters now
Even Lagos which didn’t in my day
London and Paris too which is new to me
Ironically back then Bogota was teeming with them already
Caracas as well
I don’t think Tucker had every been to Russia
I know people who love to travel there
I’ve never been either
Eastern Europe was closed in my day more or less or we’d have gone for the girls

I don’t know about ugly, so much as a Stupid American. And we have a plethora of those. I suspect that the reason why Tucker is pandering to the Russians will become obvious in time and knowing Tucker, I’m betting it has to do with $$$.
