Tucker Carlson says he went “from amused to legitimately angry” at U.S. political leaders during a recent trip to a Moscow grocery store, where the independent conservative journalist and his crew guessed that a cart full of food would cost about the equivalent of $400 in American dollars – and it came in around a hundred bucks.
“Coming to a Russian grocery store, the ‘heart of evil,’ and seeing what things cost and how they live, it will radicalize you against our leaders,” Carlson said in the video shot on-site as he shopped for eggs, bread, wine and other staples. “That’s how I feel, anyway, radicalized. We’re not making any of this up, by the way. At all.”
-snip-
“So we were guessing what this would cost,” Carlson said as he puts his items on the belt. “Everybody [in the crew] is from the United States … and we didn’t pay any attention to cost, we just put in the cart what we would actually eat over a week. We all [guessed] around $400 bucks. It was $104 U.S. here. And that’s when you start to realize that ideology doesn’t matter as much as you thought.”

When I went to Poland, for me their prices were very low.
But then I found out for the average Pole, those prices are very expensive to them, because their wages are lower by our standards.
It’s one of the reasons why retiring abroad is attractive for many Americans.
I thought it was your Mom, Bill, the way you worship her
Tucker’s head is not screwed on straight.
Uh-oh. Now he is going to be indicted and jailed in solitary confinement as an insurrectionist.
A normal Russian making normal Russian wages wouldn’t be able to afford everything that Tucker bought in that shopping trip. They have other expenses too to pay out of their low salary.
“We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us.”
So what exactly is a kook, and how does Tucker fit the label?
Ditto
The cost of goods in Moscovian stores does not reflect actual prices; they are the results of a political decision, not free market prices.
Its past time for TC to go to the Front and see what its like. Maybe he could collect some more Ukrainian souvenirs.
Tucker is an embarrassment. He’s our Dan Rather. Foolish man.
But also, there's huge variety of food costs here in the U.S. I'm sure Tucker and his crew could easily be surprised at low grocery costs here in Alabama if they're used to NY prices.
The problem with you and your type is that you think a decaying and corrupt America is still great. It isn’t.
This should be a wake up call to you instead you choose denial.
We have a right as Americans to expect better than what we are seeing now. It is a disgrace.
We need to focus on this country and acknowledge how low we have fallen. Instead we blow money we do not have on foreign wars to set up some stupid world government and open our borders to every third world country to come here like vampires to suck the blood out of our heritage.
Tucker isn’t a kook, YOU are.
And the climatistas and greeniacs want to make food completely unaffordable.
So paying U.S. farmers to dump milk isn’t smart?
And the average Russian worker’s salary is $750 a month.

In Moscow and St Petersburg. In the Stands and far East $750 a year is more like it.
tucker’s a moron or at least thinks that his fans and listeners are morons ... prices were cheap because the ruble is very weak against the very strong dollar ...
Using 100 rubles = $1.00 for simplicity how much food can you buy in Russia for 100 rubles vs. what you can get for a dollar?
In the US $1 doesn't go very far, that much is for certain.
“ US has some of the highest food costs in the world. (Not the highest) but insanely higher than most western nations”
No.
Food is more affordable and abundant here than almost anywhere in the world .
Tucker thinks a crap hole place like Russia is told model, the guy is smoking crack.
80’s mentality. My family use to travel to Europe and Mexico. We’ve seen the price differences and the use of less chemicals in the foods. Americans are not only being over priced on items, we are also being poisoned as well. Thank the F’ers who support the WEF and their cultish obsession to destroy America.
