Your comment sounds a lot like blaming a victim for being in a place where a criminal could attack her.

I tend to focus on the criminal doing something bad, and to a lesser extent a victim foolishly going where she shouldn't.

We should not tolerate criminal like behavior in our society, and especially not tolerate it from our governments.

Victims generally chose to fight back their attacker. I see nothing here that indicates the homeowner did anything.
