There’s plenty of tools out there to generate a transcript if not provided. There are also tools to generate braille transcripts.
I am thinking of all the things that he can Zeepsplain to us.
There’s also a little “show transcript” button in the info section of the youtube video. Pretty nice feature actually.
So why don't they use them? I'm not about to waste MY bandwidth downloading their bulky video files to be post-processed. That was my whole point.
That's a "closed captioning" feature, is it not? You still have to download the entire video to see the text, which means using up the same time and bandwidth. And no way to save it as a text file for later reference. I'll test it when I see something worthwhile. Certainly not on a Scott Ritter spew. He's already so discredited himself it's a wonder YouToob doesn't yank his stuff as "dis-information". (Oh, right - they only do that to conservatives.)
n.b. I was willing to read his transcript, if only to fisk it. Find me one of the hate-mongers lobbing insults willing to do that for anything we adults post.

Thank you for pointing that out. Non-visual content via video is my least favorite method of obtaining info. Even visual-related content on youtube I watch at 1.5x or better. But I think it is an age thing. Not quite sure where the cutoff is, but the younger someone is, the more likely it seems they prefer someone reading to them over video than reading the info themselves.
Maybe that is one of the reasons FreeRepublic seems to attract older folks - it’s mostly text-based.
