Gov. Ron DeSantis’ 2024 presidential campaign barely lasted into 2024, but he sounds as if he’s still in the thick of the race.
The governor isn’t addressing pressing state issues such as soaring homeowners insurance rates or the need for more affordable housing.
Political analysts say DeSantis is still in campaign mode but for the next presidential race in four years.
“He clearly is running for 2028,” said Bob Jarvis, a law professor at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. “He is looking for ways to stay relevant in the national conversation. … reminding [GOP] voters that, ‘Hey, I’m still here. I’m still aligned with you, and I’ll be back in 2028. So don’t forget me.’”

At this point nothing DeSantis does will be interpreted as political posturing, whether it is or not.
In his sleep he is a better Governor than most. Certainly better than the Democrat he will be running against.
Right now DeSantis should be focused solely on problems in Florida. House insurance rates, electricity rates, homeless issues, crime issues, grooming next governor candidate etc.

I think DeSantis is term limited. He can’t run again for governor during next election.

OR, as I pointed out, Ron's goodbye speech was an audition for TrumpII's Secretary of Education, and it wasn't a bad audition at that. He has his moments.

well, considering desanctus still hasn’t done anything to address or even consider addressing the problem with insurance of all types, even as he’s making p.r. appearances daily, he has no chance ever again of political office

Do you have a specific concern about property insurance billionaires are buying to protect their estates in Palm Beach County or just a general concern about “the problem with insurance of all types” in all 67 Florida counties?
If it is the later, do you think insurance premiums are too low, or too high?

desantis suspended his campaign he didn’t completely stop it.
it’s what dems do all the time, see they can’t win as is, play little games in the mean time then find a way to force what they want.
Haley is just doing it the obvious way, but Ron, you can bet he is still hoping Trump is in jail or otherwise ousted from top spot.
I had no opinion of Ron to start with, never heard of him before 2023. All I do know about him is he has been governor for years and has not secured FL borders in that whole time. He messed up other things too so I don’t see why people think he is at all good for FL or the country, he is just as bad a all the other governors who have not secured their states borders - it’s governor’s responsibility to do that when Fed (joey potato brain) doesn’t secure the borders and allows invasion.
