I went to HS at Ribault, an done of my classmates as the son of a funeral home owner.

The stories he told us of what goes on in the back were horrid even then, in 1970-73..............

I believe it....AND it’s obscenely expensive.

No wonder cremation is so popular these days.....even with that I’ve heard unsettling stories.

I was in the service with the son of a large funeral home owner which had been in business for a long time and he was next in line. He didn’t really tell us anything gory but it explained the whole decomposition process and why not to purchase the best coffin and a bunch of other stuff because it was all fluff, not serving any purpose other than making people spend money on really nice funeral arrangements that weren’t necessary to get the job done. Good guy, and after he got out of the service he took over the funeral business. I looked him up on the Internet a couple times and yep he’s still in there.

Funerals are not for the dead, they are for the living.

This seems to be a ‘thing’ with black owned funeral services businesses.

A bit of back story is he inherited the business from his dad.....I strongly suspect he had ABSOLUTELY no idea how to run a funeral home.

I don’t either but I wouldn’t have tried.

If it were me I’d of either hired capable people to run it or sold it outright.

Mishandling human remains is just unbelievably disrespectful and incompetent.

As I understand it, the authorities are planning to throw the book at this guy, and I for one say GOOD!

“I looked him up on the Internet a couple times and yep he’s still in there”

No doubt, it’s an unbelievably lucrative industry......if you actually know what the hell your doing that is.
