Russian Media Hypes Tucker Carlson Visit: 'Americans Are in Shock'
Newsweek ^ | 2/4/2024 | Thomas Kika

Hosts on Russian state-run television recently hyped up the news that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was spotted visiting Moscow.

-snip-

On Sunday, Julia Davis, founder of the Russian Media Monitor watchdog group, shared a clip to X from a recent broadcast of Solovyov Live in which the hosts discussed Carlson's appearance in Russia and mocked Americans in response to it.

"Americans are in shock. What is happening?" one of the hosts asked. "How did one of the best-known American journalists, Tucker Carlson, suddenly end up in Russia somehow and even went to the Bolshoi Theater to see the Spartacus ballet?"

The hosts went on to note that no official information is available as to what Carlson intends to do in Russia, while also mentioning his past claims about wanting to interview Putin, but being prevented from doing so by the U.S. government.

“No one is labelling Carlson a Russian asset; except, perhaps YOU, since you bring it up.”

You might want to look at some pro-Ukraine forums...

Does anyone ever read this propaganda rag?

When I lived in Japan in the late 60s, I read Newsweek because it seemed less propaganda than Time, but I was a teenager then, and it was 55 years ago. Haven't read it in at least three decades, maybe four.

My Grandfather was born in Kiev but always considered himself Russian. Now that was over a hundred years ago

In the novel and the movie "The Shoes of the Fisherman," Kiril Lakota, the archbishop of Lvov is referred to as "the Russian Pope," even though he is clearly Ukrainian Catholic.

That is a lovely movie. Anthony Quinn did a wonderful job on it.

What role is Z the “actor” playing in that video?

A dog with worms?

I don’t think she traveled with him to Russia.

I googled your question and nothing came up.

From what I read, something to do with the Cossacks. Not sure why he was making fun of them. But I’m not Ukrainian or Russian so I can’t give you an answer on why he’s doing a parody. But you can Google if you’re that interested in it.

I highly doubt she went to Russia with him. But, either way, a freeper is obsessed with Tucker’s visit to the opera.

That’s BS.

Cossacks didn’t dress or prance around like the Nancy Boys in that video.

No one would make the connection.

The idea behind the parody was to combine the Ukrainian boyband "Kazaky" with the culture of actual Cossacks.

Can anyone translate what Zelensky is saying in this old video of him?

This is why Tucker is a national hero.

Tucker is one-man gang when it comes to exposing the propaganda of the political class.

Looks like he is interviewing Putin. And apparently is going to break big news.

Patrick Byrne
@PatrickByrne
I know what Putin is going to tell Tucker (a month ago they invited me over to break it, but Tucker is a much better solution).

It is going to change history.
