The reported appearance of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson in the Russian capital has sparked intense speculation over the purpose of the conservative media personality's visit to Moscow.
Carlson arrived in Moscow on February 1, and was spotted attending the Bolshoi Theater in the capital, according to Russian outlet Mash.
Questions quickly swirled over why the TV anchor would have traveled to Moscow, and whether he intended to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin during the visit.

They didn’t do it because they had an interest in a Union victory. They did it for a realpolitic reason. There was a heating up of tension between Russia & the UK (I think France too!). The UK interpreted certain Russian actions as possible threats to India. The Russian counter was to get the bulk of its fleet away from easily blockaded and weather limited ports. Some Russian ships went to East coast ports NYC, etc others Pacific fleet to San Francisco. So two needs were served Russia had freedom of action with its fleet and the Union had the appearance of an “allied” fleet in its ports.
In fact, Carlson is indepedently wealthy. He comes from wealth, inherted wealth, and rustled up a little on his own so far. Therefore, he can wheel and deal at will. If he wants to go interview Putin, he doesn’t have to kiss anybody’s rump to get permission. I hope he does interview Putin. You can bet the farm that if he does, he won’t pussyfoot around. He’ll ask tough questions and you’ll hear the answers for yourself, with no big network BS interjected to obscure or confuse anything. We need about 100 more like him.
NO!!! We can't let that kind of information out. People may not be as invested in this prolonged useless war and demand we quit financing Zelensky and his corrupt officials. The Deep State will not be pleased if this occurs.
I don’t know the Freepers just claimed it was ‘created by them... they are proud of their creations. I’m thinking right now of that meme with 4 abstract looking ghouls howling?
This is certainly not a useless war for those Ukrainians who do not want their children sent, again, to Russian gulags. They’d rather die on their feet than live as slaves to the Moscow Kremlin ever again. That is an ideal, obviously, that keyboard warrior populists will never understand.
Isn’t that a quote by Hitler regarding Russia and Bolshevismfrom his autobiography Mein Kampf?
LOL.. well the common blood-stained criminals does seem to apply to Putin & the Kremlin today!
Hitler understood the Russians. I guess monsters always recognize their own.
WOW!
Thank you for the Ruzzia qotes!
Will add to my word document.
LMAO. There really is something wrong with these people. Their obsessive nature makes me laugh at them and simultaneously gives me the creeps.
I just asked chatgpt “really, what was Russia’s motivation to support the Union during the Civil War.” Here is what it replied with:
“Russia’s motives for its actions during the American Civil War were primarily rooted in diplomatic considerations and strategic interests. While there may not have been a singular motive, several factors influenced Russia’s stance:
1. **Diplomatic Support for the Union**: One of Russia’s primary motives was to demonstrate diplomatic support for the Union. By maintaining diplomatic relations with the United States during the Civil War, Russia signaled its recognition of the federal government as the legitimate authority. This was in contrast to some European nations that were considering recognizing the Confederacy as a separate nation. Russia’s support bolstered the Union’s diplomatic standing.
2. **Deterrence of European Intervention**: The deployment of Russian warships to American ports, such as New York and San Francisco, was a strategic move to deter potential foreign intervention by European powers, particularly Britain and France. Russia’s presence served as a warning that any foreign military involvement in the conflict could face opposition.
3. **Alignment with Emancipation**: Tsar Alexander II had already abolished serfdom in Russia in 1861, and he was known for his progressive views on issues related to emancipation and freedom. By aligning with the Union, which was fighting against slavery, Russia reinforced its commitment to principles of human rights and freedom.
4. **Strategic Considerations**: Russia’s decision to sell Alaska to the United States in 1867 also had strategic considerations. Alaska was a remote and sparsely populated territory, and Russia might have been concerned about its vulnerability in case of conflict with other powers, such as Britain. Selling Alaska allowed Russia to divest itself of a distant and potentially vulnerable territory.
5. **Avoiding Involvement in European Power Struggles**: By staying out of the American conflict and not taking sides in the power struggles among European nations, Russia aimed to maintain its own stability and avoid being drawn into conflicts that did not directly serve its interests.
In summary, Russia’s motives during the American Civil War were multifaceted and included diplomatic support for the Union, deterrence of foreign intervention, alignment with emancipation principles, strategic considerations regarding Alaska, and a desire to avoid becoming entangled in European power struggles. These motives collectively shaped Russia’s actions and stance during this critical period in American history.”
Have to agree. The hate of an entire people is a bit unhinged.
That’s nice! My Civil War history courses taught by people and books written by people that i’ve read on the diplomancy of that era disagree. I’ll go with the humans!
Useless in the sense that it could have been prevented. Before it started, Putin declared no NATO presence in Ukraine. That was the red line. Is NATO membership worth sacrificing a large part of the nation? I don’t think so. Compromises and diplomacy should have been implemented before this bloody disaster takes its final toll. Do you really think Putin won’t use nukes? Are you willing to bet hundreds of thousands of lives for your keyboard warmonger belief?
This is my understanding as well. The columnist Herb Caen wote some very insightful bits about California history and I recall he mentioned the Russian Pacific fleet calling at San Francisco.
You’re most welcome!
When I went to school, my teachers were WW2 Vets.
They were proficient in the subjects they taught; Science, English, Geography, Biology, Civics, Chemistry, Math, etc.
When it came to History...No social justice, no critical race theory, no revisionist history, we got it straight.
And they didn’t put up with any crap.
Same here!
