I have actually been to that Denny’s...
I remember it because they were running a bacon fest on their menu.
And the fact that I survived a few days of work on that side of the Bay..
Even ventured to a Walmart and a Wingstop near there and survived..
The food desert just keeps growing... and nobody knows why.
Yep, due to all this political correctness , we’re not allowed to say why these food deserts keep growing.
We reached a point where allowed to say that these businesses are closing because of crime, but we are not allowed to identify who the criminals are.
My wife and I visited it on the way to Hearst castle years ago is it still open?
I loved Sambos.
The walls were covered with cartoon-like scenes and the pancakes were memorable.
Obviously the problem is too many police in Oakland. Time for some BLM riots to demand “Food Justice.”
Could it be Denny’s is in cahoots with Al Gore to reduce agriculture?
“Denny’s used to be called Sambos.”
No, that was a totally separate company.
If you are fortunate enough to avoid the criminal element, the food at Wing Stop will finish the job.
Oakland needs 10-289
Th3 black community “fixing racism” by driving businesses out of business thereby making absolutely sure that no one wants to do business 8n black communities any longer!
Way to go folks! That’s some plan ya got there to overcome racism!
“Denny’s used to be called Sambos.”
No. Denny’s only bought a few locations. Most Sambos were bought by Bakers Square.
Another way of looking at it is that there is an escalating concentration of crime ridden black ghettos. No longer the poor. With black racism on full steam there are virtually no white or Asians in attendance. Not even many Hispanics.
What more could a person with a car and a map want to be able to avoid these thugs?
:)
I happened to buy a couple folks some food while at that Wingstop in Oakland who were looking for cash..
It was an area that I wouldn’t want to hang out post sunset
It was an early dinner in Oakland every time..
Then back quickly to hotel..
I don’t remember the hotel I stayed at in Oakland but it wasn’t too far away from the Coliseum/Denny’s nor the Walmart/Wingstop.
Didn’t want to venture too far off the path..
Most of my Bay work was on the San Fran side but didn’t want to have to commute across those days I had to be in Oakland.
Looks like a majority of that area of the west coast could become a ghost town soon.
More like a crime zone.
The Raiders have relocated to Las Vegas, and the A's have been approved for their move to Vegas as well.
No one wants to be the first penguin off the ice floe...
Denny’s is just Waffle House for people that can’t fight.
That’s how it goes when police are shackled and discouraged and the Democrat political power structures allow criminals to go unpunished - crime gets a dominent foothold. Stores, parking lots and foot traffic are targets. Word gets out, these locations languish and close.
Once closed, that’s hundreds pf customers and employees not frequenting the area each day. More stores lose business, more close.
I’ve read the crime model in that area is targeting area autos, gas stations and restaurant parking because of the nearby Oakland Airport and the necessity of filling the gas tank of rental cars. Also random shopping and eating while they’re in the area.
Criminals have it made there. Perhaps they must occasionaly endure a few hours during catch and no-bail release but otherwise they’re free to steal, mug and shoplift as they please.
Shoppers stay away, buisness dies, hastening the blight in the area. Sensible persons move from the area if they can.
