Utah Gov. Spencer Cox signed a pair of this legislative session's most controversial bills Tuesday night. The move effectively ends diversity, equity and inclusion programs in state-owned schools, and bans transgender people from accessing restrooms that differ from their biological sex except in certain circumstances in state-owned buildings. "We want public facilities that are safe and accommodating for everyone and this bill increases privacy protections for all," Cox said in a statement, explaining his reason for signing HB257. The bill requires more unisex and single-stall facilities to be created in public buildings and only allows transgender people to use gender-specific bathrooms if they have undergone transgender-related surgery and changed their birth certificate to match their gender identity.

Good., but sucky title
Will there be guards stationed at every single bathroom door to verify?
"OK, Buster, drop trou and show me!"
Surprising, pleasantly, because Cox is a little squishy.
My thoughts exactly.
“The move effectively ends diversity, equity and inclusion programs in state-owned schools, and bans transgender people from accessing restrooms that differ from their biological sex except in certain circumstances in state-owned buildings.”
Excellent! Hope other states follow.
Maybe he’ll learn that if you act courageous you become courageous. In think the trans issue has shown a lot of squishy people that the other side is just flippin nuts. Just because they whine and yell and dress funny doesn’t mean you have to give in to them
Yes, the headline seemed to imply the opposite of what the bills were enacting.
Exactly! If one word to read the sentence without that final word, “end”, it would’ve been an entirely different story!
And then I make a typo (should’ve been “were”, not “word”!)
Media Rules - “controversial” is only applied to things conservatives support.
