A Montana mom and dad who lost custody of their daughter after they refused to transition her gender have told DailyMail.com the ordeal 'has torn their family apart.'

Krista Kolstad revealed the family's nightmare began when they received a call that their 14-year-old daughter Jennifer told friends at school that she wanted to commit suicide in August 2023.

Later that night, Child Protective Services (CPS) went to the Kolstad's home in Glasgow to inspect the house and interview Jennifer, later determining that she needed to transition to get better.

Krista, who is Jennifer's step mother, and the girl's biological father, Todd Kolstad, said Jennifer had a tough upbringing and several undiagnosed mental health concerns, including attention-seeking behavior and lying, which they believe caused the urge to transition and were overlooked by social services.

Krista told DailyMail.com: 'It's been horrible... Our family unit will never be the same. Even if they returned our daughter to us now, you're not going to have the same family unit... it's created a lot of animosity on Jennifer's part towards us, she doesn't believe she has to listen to us as her parents anymore.'

Mr Kolstad said: 'I love my daughter unconditionally, and only want her to refrain from making decisions until she has the maturity and life experiences to understand what the consequences are for her actions.

How many trans kids, once they reach adulthood will file suits against the shrinks who are more screwed up in the head than these poor kids who enable crap like this the as well as the quacks who mutilated them and the hospitals who allowed this, if the trans remorse doesn't get to them first.
This no doubt explains why the law profession in general is all in on transing kids. They're playing the long game. If I were a young tort lawyer I'd be grinning from ear to ear. Cole v Permanente may be a harbinger of things to come.

When I was a little girl of 5, I love my daddy far more than my mom. Used to walk around in his big slippers with his hat on my head. Liked to watch him shave in the morning too. Sometimes he’d put a dollop of shaving cream on my nose, which we both laughed about.

I often wished I’d grow up to be just like him, would rather run the company than be a housewife like my mom who criticized me all the time.

Today other adults might recommend thinking about “Gender Affirming”. actions. Big sigh. I grew up to be one of those “I enjoy being a girl” women. Just ask my kids.

Certainly the American Psychological Association has opened up itself to liability issues for anybody who transitions and still commits suicide. I know I would be looking at that option if I had a child or somebody close commit suicide after following the organizations recommendations for treatment.
