No Venezuelans live in the Essequibo, or have ever lived there.
While a referendum in Venezuela showed almost unanimous support for annexing the territories, they did not hold or consider a referendum in Guyana, or even the Essequibo district. What do the “Essequibans” want? Who cares. But I suspect they would not choose rule by Caracas. Heck, seven million Venezuelans have fled rule by Caracas.

Its all about the Benjamins. Oil means Bucks. Once the power of US is wreaked—big nations can gobble up smaller ones. China ate Tibet and Hong Kong. Russia got a slice of Ukraine. etc... Maybe we should steal Baja from Mexico, or annex Cuba?
“sanctioned” has to be the most confusing word in the English language. It took me a minute to figure our what you were talking about.
Sanction (noun)
1. give official permission or approval for (an action).
2. impose a sanction or penalty on.
Who’s around to stop them?
