Donald Trump knew what he had to do nearly eight years ago. As a political outsider, he played the smart card. Trump, the GOP’s presidential nominee, picked a stiff as his running mate, someone that, first, reassured the Republican establishment. That stiff was Mike Pence. No, no, no… Set aside hindsight. Pence was a solid choice in July 2016.
Trump wanted to build a Team of Rivals. Pence was meant as a bridge to the Ryans and McConnells and the broader D.C. establishment. That move failed bigly. The establishment didn’t want a bridge. Accommodation? Nah, unless Trump sold his soul.
Now it’s 2024. Trump doesn’t owe the rotting establishment a blessed thing -- other than payback (alternatively called justice). His veep pick this go-round won’t have anything to do with making nice to D.C. lifers. Trump has been emancipated by the very elites who have worked overtime to trip him up and destroy him. The irony is richer than Mark Zuckerberg.
What scares elites is that Trump as 47 would be “one and done.” His 48-month lease on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue would expire at high noon on January 20, 2029, no exceptions. No looking ahead to a second term. No worrying about reelection. Trump unleashed makes elites tremble.
Of course, Trump has to get elected. Given the crummy state of the nation and Biden’s feebleness and corruption, Trump wins a fair fight. But the fight coming will be anything but fair, that we know. We’re in for a heckuva brouhaha. Victory isn’t guaranteed.
Last Sunday, Trump downplayed who he’d pick as his running mate. He told Fox News’ Brett Baier (via The Hill) that “People won’t be that surprised.” Of course, Trump knows a wee bit about marketing. Is it possible that he’s underselling?

I love Vivek, and man can he say the right things. Is he a true conservative, though? Not really sure. Of course, in 2106 I was a tad worried about Trump, but he turned out to be the greatest President we’ve had in a long time. I would pay to see Vivek debate Kamalamadingdong.
Heading toward November Trump is in a good position. The Dums won’t have Covid to gin up their mail-in ballot scheme (although they’ll still try), and they won’t have X/Twitter to set the tone. Facebook is under huge scrutiny, so they may not be a big factor this time around. One thing the Dums DO have is Bidenomics. It’ll hang like an albatross around Biden’s neck. No one, not even Lefties, feels the economy is good right now. Add to that the border crisis, inflation, wars and rumors of wars, and Trump has a strong hand. If he stays on message I think his odds of winning are good.

That’s Job One. Trump cannot fix the nation if he cannot first overcome the Democrat cheat machine. He’s got to win by a margin that beats the cheat.
So I’d had have to favor as a VP pick someone who’s more of an election asset than a worthy successor. Ideally, it would be a smart and likable conservative woman from a swing state. Who that is, I’m not yet sure.
She isn’t old enough…but the thought was good. LOL
Trump picked Pence because he needed to be able to convince Evangelicals who were not at all sure about a guy who was known as a playboy billionaire from New York. It was a smart choice in terms of getting him elected. Of course, Pence who was with the RINO Establishment all the way started working to undermine President Trump the moment he got in office.
Now everybody knows Trump delivered for them. They don’t need to be convinced nearly as much. He doesn’t need to select a RINO like Pence this time. In fact, it would be very stupid and dangerous to do so given how much the Deep State hates him and views him as an existential threat. By far the safer choice would be to select someone the Deep State is equally if not more frightened of.
Yeah, I know he’s leftist. But he also thinks the alphabet agencies killed his dad. They are his enemy and ours. And he was on our side in the vax debate. He will go after Fauci and the tech censors. Trump can hold him back from the rest.

Life insurance comes in a variety of flavors.
The part of me that's not happy with Trump's spending the last time wants Rand to be VP. Or at least put Rand in charge of the Federal Reserve so we can get a real audit.
I'd also like Gen Flynn or Col Allen West for Defense Secretary. Flynn more than West because Flynn has shown that he can stick to his principles even after the deep state's lawfare comes at him.
Maybe the best AG would be Rudy. Unlike Jeff Sessions, who I and many FReepers first thought was the best pick in Trump's prior cabinet, Rudy has shown that he can withstand the Dim deep state onslaught. I respect Rudy a lot more than I used to.

He is a leftist on a wide variety of issues—well documented here and elsewhere.
However he is certain that the Deep State assassinated JFK and RFK and he wants revenge.
That is called motivation and passion while most Republicans just want to go along to get along and make some cash on the side.
He would be an outstanding Attorney General or give him control over the alphabet soup of intelligence agencies.
Just look at Paul Ryan, he got the republicans to lose an election just so he can go against Trump’s proposals that were largely popular with Americans , even if a lot of people didn’t like his personality.

I think there are two types of saboteurs though.
You have the conscious types, who willingly stay moles, pretend to be on your side, aide the enemy and media with information, and destroy you when the they think the time is right. I think there were a lot of these in the deep state.
Then you have the subconscious saboteurs. The passive-aggressive types. They only use obstruction and slow-walking and stone-walling. They aren’t just two-faced, because when they are with you they will act like they are your friend but they will actual conscious convince themselves that they are decent people and wont acknowledge their own mal-intent. I think people like Paul Ryan were one of these.

Winsome Sears is awesome. That’s the best way to describe her. And she’s the perfect counterbalance to stale old GOP Deep Staters like Mitch McConnell. Unfortunately, Sears was born in Jamaica. So she’s not constitutionally eligible for VP…
…unless she can find the guy who “fixed” Obama’s birth certificate.

Trump’s “payback” or “retribution” is getting re-elected. That’s it. He doesn’t have to do a damned thing other than get the economy going, manage that friggin’ boarder, get the illegals outta here and get us some peace worldwide. I know that’s a big order, but he can do it. I’m sure he learned a lot from his time in office and the last three years watching DC.

Actually, he does. He needs the party’s political machine and apparatus to get 80+ million votes.
If he didn’t need any of this, he would have run as an independent.
